Day 33: "B" Month

Yesterday was the feast of the Presentation of the Lord. In the Gospel, Simeon spoke his canticle:

Now, Master, You can dismiss your servant in peace;
You have fulfilled Your word.
For my eyes have witnessed your saving deed
 displayed for all the peoples to see:
A revealing light to the Gentiles,
the glory of Your people Israel
. (Lk. 2:29-32)

There is interplay of going and coming, dying and living which all points toward the salvific act of God. While people avoid death, Simeon prays for it; while people desire grave for treasures (as ancient graves have), Simeon desires grave for the true treasure – eternal life; and as Simeon was inspired to offer his life to God, the Messiah offers his life for humanity.
