Day 9: The Beautiful (part 1)

Today is the 9th day of my daily journal. Through a constructive critic from a concerned dear friend, I decided to change the format of my ‘project’. This week, I will be featuring the city life in Rome through pictures I will personally take, and try to educe some values which we often fail to recognize and appreciate because perhaps we don’t find it trivial, or due to the demands of a fast paced society, or most probably because we’re too concern with our daily living.

I don’t intend to provide answers to each question or erase the scars of each situation but I hope to at least find solace to the truths and goodness there are in people, intrinsic in life.

Look at these houses, are they beautiful because they looked different from the typical houses we see? Or they are beautiful because they are just more than a house? To echo the same message of a familiar song "A house is not a home when there is no one there to accept you as a person."

Which is the true darkness in life? The condition of this woman begging in broad day light, or this dark room begging for a tiny light? We often witness these two scenarios : with something we do nothing, with nothing we see something. Is it not true that we are often prevented by doubt to drop a single cent to give hope yet we do not doubt hope coming from a tiny light?

Signs were created to guide, human beings were created to abide. But are we not doing the reverse? "We rule, they abide!" We want to be above the rule of reason and of Divine law.

to be continued....
